Little Coasters Ministry is a ministry devoted to all preschool-age children, from infants to Pre-kindergarten. Our children are divided into age appropriate classrooms, with toys and activities that are suited for each age group.
Little Coasters is available for all services on the Vista Campus except for  Sunday Early Bird Café at 7:30am.

Nursery
Trained volunteers provide loving care in our well-equipped nurseries, with special attention given to cleanliness.

Toddlers
Trained helpers provide loving care for toddlers, entertaining them with music, toys, books, and play equipment in a warm and safe environment. A snack is provided.

2 Year Olds – Pre-K
Our 2-year olds, 3-year olds, and Pre-K (4-year olds) classrooms are designed to be a warm and nurturing environment where your children can learn about God’s love. Each room is staffed with a trained teacher and one or more helpers. Activities include Bible lessons, crafts, music, outside play time, and snack time. It is our sincere prayer and heartfelt desire to help your children grow in their love for the Lord.

Frequently Asked Questions

Take a look at our frequently asked questions to find out how Little Coasters works.  Email any additional questions to Theresa Kidwell, our children’s pastor, at tkidwell@northcoastchurch.com.

What can my child expect during the service? Is this just a babysitting service?

Definitely not! The Little Coasters program incorporates age appropriate teaching time to help build a foundation for understanding God’s love.

What are the check-in and check-out procedures for babies (children under 2-years old)?

Each child must be completely signed in before they can be admitted to the room. This includes:

  1. Visitor Policy: First-time visitors to our ministry must fill out a yellow registration card for their child. We use this to record pertinent information and the dates your child visits. After 3 times, the information is recorded in our computer system and your child becomes a “regular attender.”
  2. The sign-in sheet: Once your child in a “regular attender”, you can complete your check-in process on the computer at the entrance of each room. If there are any special needs that we need to be aware of (i.e., allergies, custody issues), please inform our team when you check in your child.
  3. A sticky nametag: The adult checking in the child must fill out a sticky label name tag to stick onto the child’s back. These name tags are used to give our team members any necessary additional information needed to better care for your infant.
  4. A number: The greeter will give you a number for your child. If your child should need you or if the team member needs to contact you, your number will be displayed on the number system located in each venue. If your child is inconsolable, we will alert you. Your child will only be released after the assigned number card is presented to the classroom team member.

Who are the volunteers working with my child?

All volunteers are given background checks and scanned through a national security website. In addition, they are given training prior to working with the children.

My child isn't having a good experience in the larger service. What are my options?

We encourage you to try a smaller service with small classes. Our services on Saturday nights at 5:30pm and the Live @ 12:45 service are both great options.

What is your bathroom policy?

We encourage parents to take their children to the restroom before the service begins. However, if the need arises, there are bathrooms in the classrooms.

What is your sick child policy?

No sick kids! If your child has a runny nose, cough, or fever, they will not be allowed to participate in Little Coasters.
