Memorial and Bereavement Ministry

Providing the care you and your family need during times of loss.

Our Memorial and Bereavement Ministry is available to you anytime you have experienced the loss of a loved one. If you have come to this page, you may have just experienced the hardest day of your life and our ministry is here to support you.

PLANNING A MEMORIAL?

The shock from the loss a loved one is full of profound sadness and despair. This can lead to making pressured decisions on what to do next. Let us help you. Our ministry team is available to walk you through necessary steps. Our ministry can help make those steps and decisions bearable. You do not have to do this alone.

When scheduling a memorial at North Coast Church for a loved one, please consider:

  • Service Date Options: Memorial services are scheduled Monday through Friday, between 9am and 5pm. We are not able to schedule memorials on Saturday or Sunday.
  • Reserving A Venue: It’s understood that these circumstances may occur suddenly. Our team is prepared to help you with all the last-minute details. We prefer to schedule our facility (pending availability) at least 10 days in advance. This allows our team the time needed to plan for the event. In the case that the service is booked less than a week in advance, we may be unable to provide all our regular services.
  • Officiant: We ask that a North Coast pastor officiate memorial services on our campus. You may request a pastor or we will appoint a well-qualified pastor that would welcome the privilege to honor your loved one. In the case that a pastor outside of the North Coast staff is requested, this will be approved on a case-by-case basis.

North Coast will provide the following when hosting a memorial for your loved one:

  • Planning a memorial service/celebration of life: We can host a service at our campuses, or we can travel to your selected site. We work with all the local mortuaries and cemeteries. If you would like to host a service with us, we will provide service programs, a legacy picture slideshow, a worship leader, a pastor to host the service and staff to work during the service.
  • Graveside services: If your family prefers graveside services only, we can offer a pastor to host at the cemetery. We can provide the same services such as a service program, legacy picture slideshow, and worship leader.

To inquire about these services, please contact Susan Trueblood, 760-724-6700 ext 149 or strueblood@northcoastchurch.com.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

Pre-planning a memorial service: There are those who wish to pre-plan their memorial service with us. We will provide a visit with your loved one to discuss their wishes for the service.

Prayer Support: If you have a loved one who needs pastoral prayer and support, we can arrange a pastoral visit with your loved one and/or family. These visits can happen at the time of diagnosis, at the time of hospitalization or passing.

Grief Group: Our grief groups are for those learning to live after the death of a loved one. Our supportive environment helps those at all stages of your grief journey. The leaders are dedicated to teaching and supporting those mending a broken heart.

To inquire about these services, please contact Susan Trueblood, 760-724-6700 ext 149 or strueblood@northcoastchurch.com.
