North Coast Community Service is committed to making a positive difference by sponsoring and coordinating community impact events and supporting local organizations that truly make a difference in the lives of the people they reach out to.
History of RAAM
Since 1981, the Ultra Marathon Cycling Association (UMCA) has sponsored a literal race across the United States. It begins on the West Coast and ends over 3,000 miles later somewhere on the East Coast. Solo riders race around the clock for over a solid week in this "one-stage" race where time taken for rest stops, sleeping, and eating all count as race time. The Race Across America (RAAM) also includes team and corporate divisions where each team races against each other, always keeping one rider on the road while others position themselves ahead for their segment of the race.
The North Coast Cycling RAAM Team will race in the 8-man division and use this massive effort to raise awareness and to raise financial support for the efforts of North Coast Community Services (NCCS). NCCS is committed to making a positive difference in San Diego's North County by sponsoring and coordinating community impact events and supporting local organizations that truly make a difference in the lives of the people they reach out to.
