Clever Ways to Give to the Building Project
There are many ways an individual or a family can take out a little extra from the family budget to make a contribution. We have compiled a list based on the staff's thoughts and experiences. See if this helps you think of a way you or your family can participate in the "Crossing the Jordan" Campaign.

ADD: 

• Donate an old car, boat, or RV to the church
• Use unexpected income
• Designate a raise or bonus for the Campaign
• Donate all or part of your income tax return
• Host a garage sale and donate the proceeds
• Take on a few odd jobs like housecleaning, mowing, babysitting, craft production, etc.
• Get a holiday job in retail for the Christmas season
• Sell items on e-bay and donate the proceeds    

SUBTRACT:

• Take your vacation locally (enjoy the beach in San Diego, not Hawaii)
• Hold off on buying luxury items like plasma TV, ATV, fancy camera, racing bike.
• Give up Starbucks (don't buy a Latte a day – it could add up to $3,000 in 3 years!)
• Downscale your entertainment: rent a movie vs. go to the theatre
• Discontinue a luxury service: like gardener, nails, facials, unused club memberships, premium cable and movie channels, magazines, housecleaner or personal trainer.  

DELAY:

• Delay purchasing a new TV, or other high ticket items
• Delay a home or room remodel
• Delay a car purchase –or buy used, not new
• Don’t upgrade equipment
• Live out of your closet for a year (resist buying new clothes)  

MISC:

• Collect change in a jar
• Use scrip
