Steve and Yumi Barrett
About The Barrett Family
Steve was born and raised in Oceanside, CA, while Yumi was born in Tokyo, Japan. From middle school age, Steve and his family attended North Coast Church. Steve and Yumi met each other in college (he graduated from Biola in 2004) and were married in 2002. Their first daughter, Anna, was born at Tri-City Hospital in June, 2004. Their second daughter Manna was born in Tokyo in 2006. The Barrett's moved to Funabashi in the Chiba Prefecture of Japan in 2005.
Mission:
We are currently connected with a group of non-Christian families in our local area. Sharing time with other families is our current form of friendship evangelism. We assist with public outreaches through American music and worship and coordinate a short-term missions program from the U.S. to Japan.
We also coordinate a friendship host family program. This program takes a non-Christian Japanese youth and allows them to experience the love of Christ through a short stay with an American family from a church.
