THE BUDDY PROGRAM
During the weekend services, we welcome children with Autism, Asperger's, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and ADHD. This program currently focuses on infants through high school age children. Children are placed in an age or developmental appropriate mainstream classroom with a volunteer during the church service. This ministry is available with prior notice during the Saturday evening and Sunday morning services on the Melrose Campus. The volunteers, who are called "buddies", work one-on-one with the kids in the regular classrooms. They also communicate spiritual truths and the love of Jesus during the time spent with each child. Our 6 p.m. Sunday evening service called Encore features Logan's Friends, a specialized curriculum and separate classrooms for a more individualized focus.
